Newest Resource for Space Autograph Collectors

I'm the coach for a local high school science bowl team. We have used the book, "Who's Who of NASA Astronauts" as the authority on Most of this information is available for free elsewhere
For me, this is a difficult book to review, because as one reviewer has already pointed out, most of the information presented in this book is available at several NASA websites for free.The NASA sites also include nice photographs, links to other NASA information and are continuously updated.In some cases, the information presented in the book is taken word for word from the NASA sites.Read more

Superb biographic reference Manned Spaceflight
The for now (2002) last in a series of 3 books on both flown and unflown astronauts and cosmonauts. Other updated editions are the "International Space Station" edition and the "International Space Year" edition. All books are A4 format and hardcover. Some pages in the middle with color crew-photos and mission-patches. Excellenty biographic reference flown and unflown astronauts
Who's who in space is an excellent biographic reference for readers interested in the background of Astronauts, Cosmonauts and Spationautes alike. This book groups all Astro- Cosmonauts by nationality ( US + Russian + international = ESA + CNES + ... ) and then divides them down into Military and Civilian categories. Each book ( there're 3 editions ) is A4 format, hardcover. Later edition(s) might include Chinese cosmonauts which are training at Starcity-Moscow since 2002.Read more

Outstanding!

A great "one man's perspective" on the US Space Program
Having read many of the astronaut autobiographies, I found Cunningham's overview of his career and the Apollo program to be a worthy addition to the canon.Cunningham provides a brutally honest perspective on himself, the others around him, and on the program.Generally, everyone comes out fairly treated, as an individual with various facets to their personality.The only thing keeping me from giving this book 5 stars is that the ibooks paperback version is *horribly* copy edited.There are typos, misspellings, and some paragraphs that are very repetitive right near each other.Where is the quality control over there?
Even if you already own the hardback...
... I would highly recommend purchasing the paperback edition of this book also. Not only has it been revised and updated throughout, but there is an incredibly timely 29-page additional epilogue to the book. In it, Cunningham focuses on the recent Columbia tragedy and how NASA is responding to it. With devastatingly precise insight, he focuses on some major problems with the direction NASA now plans to take. This new version of the book brings the entire book into a whole different realm: in just a few pages, Cunningham makes the book the most important book on the Columbia tragedy that I have read. ...
